✍️ What Is Para Roleplay?
Para Roleplay means paragraph roleplay.
Instead of writing one short line, players write in paragraph form to describe what their character is doing, feeling, saying, seeing, and attempting.
One-Line RP Example
-
“He walks in and looks around.”
Para RP Example
-
“He stepped through the doorway slowly, his boots scraping against the old wooden floor as his eyes adjusted to the dim candlelight. The room smelled of smoke and rain-soaked leather, and his hand remained close to the hilt of his blade as he studied the strangers gathered inside.”
Para roleplay gives more detail, more atmosphere, and more character depth.

🚫 Common T-1 & Para RP Mistakes
❌ Auto-Hitting
Auto-hitting is when you decide your attack lands without giving the other player a chance to respond.
Bad:
-
“He stabbed her through the heart.”
Better:
-
“He thrust the blade toward her chest, attempting to pierce through her guard.”
❌ Godmodding
Godmodding is making your character unfairly unbeatable.
Examples:
-
Never taking damage
-
Dodging everything
-
Having unlimited power
-
Ignoring consequences
-
Using impossible counters
-
Making attacks that cannot be avoided
❌ Powerplaying
Powerplaying is controlling another person’s character without permission.
Bad:
-
“He grabbed her and threw her into the wall, knocking her unconscious.”
Better:
-
“He reached for her arm, attempting to grab her and force her toward the wall.”
❌ Metagaming
Metagaming is using out-of-character knowledge in-character.
Example:
-
You read someone’s private character sheet and then your character magically knows their weakness.
