Before the first world had mountains to raise their ancient crowns toward the heavens, before the oceans had learned the eternal cadence of their tides, and before Time had awakened to reckon the passing of ages, there existed only Audulis Mundis, the Infinite Universe, boundless beyond all measure and older than memory itself. It was not an empty expanse, as lesser philosophers of later ages would wrongly suppose, for within its immeasurable darkness moved the first beings ever conceived by existence. They were neither gods nor spirits, for such names belonged to younger races who sought language with which to explain powers beyond their understanding. Those firstborns were the Celestine Dragons, the primordial architects of all creation, whose immeasurable wings eclipsed galaxies in their passing and whose breath bore within it the immutable laws from which all reality would thereafter be woven. Every star that has ever cast its light across the endless heavens, every moon that has sailed silently through the firmament, and every world destined to cradle life within its embrace first existed as little more than a dream carried in the heart of one of these magnificent dragons. Thus it has long been written within the oldest celestial annals that every constellation visible on the night sky is not merely an arrangement of distant stars, but the lingering wake left behind by a Celestine whose passage through eternity became forever inscribed in the heavens.
The Celestine did not exist as one singular people, nor were they fashioned alike in form, temperament, or sacred purpose. From the first dawn of creation they were divided into four great lineages, each brought forth to fulfill a charge that no other could bear. None claimed dominion over the others, for supremacy could have no place within the first order of existence. Creation demanded harmony rather than conquest, balance rather than sovereignty. Growth could not flourish without preservation, preservation could not endure without life, life could not arise without creation, and creation itself would one day falter were destruction denied its rightful place within the eternal cycle. Thus the four lineages stood not as rivals, but as indispensable pillars upon which the Infinite Universe was sustained. Their sacred accord became known throughout every age thereafter as The Four Eternal Flights, the oldest covenant ever forged beneath the stars and the first law by which all creation found its perfect equilibrium. Even among the wisest scholars of Heluway it is said that had but one of those Flights never come into being, Audulis Mundis would have remained forever incomplete, incapable of fulfilling the destiny that lay sleeping within its infinite expanse.
The eldest of those immortal lineages were the dreaded Galacastrians, whose enormity defied all comprehension.
No measure known to mortal mathematics could faithfully reckon their true size, for entire solar systems drifted before their eyes like embers carried on a winter’s wind. Worlds circled their immense forms unnoticed, and stars that lesser beings revered as eternal appeared to the Galacastrians as no more than fleeting sparks destined soon to fade. Their scales shimmered with the likeness of collapsed galaxies, each bearing within its surface rivers of black starlight that consumed every trace of illumination. Their crimson eyes burned with the ravenous brilliance of dying quasars, while their voices echoed across the void with dreadful majesty. Many younger races, beholding only fragments of ancient truth, would in later ages remember them as monsters fashioned solely for devastation. Such judgments, however, reveal only ignorance, for the oldest records preserve a far different understanding.
The Galacastrians were never creators, nor were they intended to be. Their sacred office lay in unmaking that which had reached the fullness of its ordained existence. Whenever a solar system completed the span allotted to it by the first laws of creation, the Galacastrians descended without wrath, without cruelty, and without hesitation. They consumed stars whose fires had burned their final light, gathered dying planets into their immeasurable jaws, and swallowed ancient moons whose long vigil had come at last to its appointed conclusion. Nothing of those forgotten realms was truly lost, for all that entered the endless hunger of the Galacastrians was preserved within them until the appointed hour when its substance would become the foundation from which new worlds might one day arise. Thus did the eldest Celestines understand a truth that countless civilizations would struggle to accept throughout the ages, namely that nothing truly new could ever come into existence unless something ancient first surrendered itself to the void. Destruction was therefore not the enemy of creation, but its necessary companion, and the Galacastrians stood as solemn custodians of that sacred mystery.
Second among the Eternal Flights arose the revered Fumogari, whom every surviving chronicle remembers as the Great Forgers of Heaven. Where the Galacastrians gathered the remnants of worlds whose time had ended, the Fumogari transformed those ancient remnants into beginnings yet unseen. Within their immeasurable lungs burned the living furnaces of newborn suns, and from their mighty breath poured stellar fire of such incomparable brilliance that the endless darkness blossomed with light wherever they passed. Great clouds of wandering cosmic dust answered the command of their immense talons, while gravity bent obediently before their will as they fashioned planets into perfect celestial harmony. Around those worlds they placed magnificent moons, each one born from celestial eggs laid by the Fumogari. Hence it is taught among the dragon scholars that every moon adorning the heavens was once the dormant beginning of another Celestine Dragon, resting in silent slumber through countless millennia until the appointed season of its awakening should finally arrive.
The majesty of the Fumogari could scarcely be contained within mortal description. Their wings flowed like living nebulae whose radiant colors shifted with every movement, scattering glittering clouds of celestial dust throughout the Infinite expanse. Those luminous trails endured long after the dragons had departed, gathering slowly across immeasurable ages until they blossomed into entire galaxies whose countless stars would one day nourish worlds beyond number. Many civilizations, born long after the passing of the Great Forgers, lifted their eyes toward the heavens and worshipped the stars as divine mysteries beyond mortal understanding. Few among them ever learned that those same stars were monuments raised not by distant deities, but by the patient and immeasurable craftsmanship of the immortal Fumogari, whose labor had adorned the darkness with light before the first living creature had ever drawn breath.
The third lineage bore the ancient and sacred name Vatae Va'Zenta, and though they were the smallest of all the Celestine Dragons in stature, the oldest tablets preserved within the libraries of Heluway proclaim them to have been among the greatest wonders ever granted unto creation. Where the Fumogari forged the foundations of worlds, the Vatae Va'Zenta bestowed upon those barren realms the priceless blessing of life. Their breath shimmered with emerald and sapphire radiance unlike any fire known elsewhere within Audulis Mundis. Wherever that sacred breath descended, forests spread beyond the furthest horizons, rivers carved their winding paths through newborn continents, flowers unfolded in colors beyond the language of any mortal tongue, and creatures both gentle and magnificent awoke beneath the warmth of unfamiliar suns. Every heartbeat ever taken on every living world can trace its first beginning to the blessing of the Vatae Va'Zenta, for it was they who transformed silent stone into flourishing kingdoms where life itself might take root and endure.
Across newborn seas they glided with effortless grace, their forms no greater than the mightiest whales that would later inhabit the oceans of younger worlds. As they passed above tranquil waters and untouched valleys, shimmering pollen of celestial starlight drifted from their wings, settling gently onto sleeping soils wherein countless seeds awaited the hour of their awakening. Mountains clothed themselves in forests, empty plains burst forth with grasses and flowers, and rivers that had only moments before cut lonely paths through barren wilderness soon found their banks alive with every manner of creature destined to inherit the lands prepared for them. Though the Vatae Va'Zenta possessed the smallest bodies among the Celestines, every dragon of every lineage inclined their heads in reverence whenever these gentle architects of life approached. Even the greatest empire, raised through immeasurable labor and crowned with wonders beyond imagination, remained but an empty monument unless life existed to behold its splendor. Such was the sacred truth entrusted to the keepers of life's first blessing.
Thus the Four Eternal Flights fulfilled their ordained labors across the immeasurable breadth of Audulis Mundis. The Galacastrians gathered the ancient into the eternal silence from which all beginnings must eventually spring. The Fumogari ignited the heavens and shaped the worlds that wandered beneath their radiant suns. The Vatae Va'Zenta clothed those worlds in forests, rivers, beasts, and every living thing whose songs would one day fill the silence of creation. Together they preserved the perfect harmony established in the first age, and throughout countless eons the Infinite Universe flourished beneath their sacred stewardship. Yet even as the oldest Celestines fulfilled the purposes for which they had been brought forth, destiny had reserved one final marvel, hidden beyond the knowledge of every dragon then living, awaiting the appointed hour when creation would unveil a miracle unlike any that had ever come before.
Beyond those distant reaches drifted the ancient Whemfel Galaxy, a realm so remote that even the eldest Fumogari seldom ventured within its lonely borders. At the heart of that forgotten galaxy burned an immense Type G Hypergiant star whose brilliance had endured for ages so vast that many believed its light to be everlasting. Its golden radiance washed over thousands of neighboring systems, warming worlds whose names have since been erased by Time. It illuminated countless heavens with a splendor that no younger star could hope to equal. Through unnumbered eons it remained a steadfast beacon within the darkness, and many among the Celestines came to regard it as one of creation's immutable constants, a light that had always been and would forever remain.
Yet no fire, however mighty, is exempt from the first law established beneath the covenant of the Eternal Flights. Even the greatest stars must one day surrender themselves to the endless cycle from which all creation is sustained. Slowly, across ages beyond comprehension, the ancient Hypergiant began to exhaust the immeasurable strength that had dwelt within its heart since the earliest dawn. Its vast core, burdened by the weight of its own impossible greatness, trembled beneath pressures no mortal mind could conceive. Thereafter the first fractures appeared deep within its burning soul, spreading unseen through its radiant depths as the inevitable hour of its passing drew ever nearer.
The wisest among the Fumogari beheld those signs and understood the sorrowful truth before any other. They gathered around the dying star not as masters capable of altering its fate, but as reverent witnesses honoring one of creation's eldest lights. Though they possessed the sacred gift to awaken newborn suns from darkness, even their immeasurable craft could not preserve a fire whose appointed age had reached its destined conclusion. Such authority belonged not even to the Great Forgers, for no dragon, however mighty, possessed the right to unmake the laws upon which Audulis Mundis itself had been founded. Thus they watched in solemn silence as the heart of the ancient Hypergiant continued its slow descent toward oblivion.
Throughout the expanse an uncommon stillness seemed to descend, as though creation had paused to witness the approaching end of one of its first and greatest wonders. Even the wandering Galacastrians delayed their eternal migrations, and the gentle Vatae Va'Zenta, whose songs had long filled the heavens with quiet joy, allowed their melodies to fall silent. Whether this stillness arose through divine providence or merely from the immeasurable gravity of so great an ending has remained a matter of scholarly debate throughout every succeeding age. Yet every surviving chronicle agrees on one truth, namely that all existence seemed to await the final extinguishing of that ancient golden light.
Then, in that solemn hour when every witness believed the end had at last arrived, Audulis Mundis whispered a final purpose into the dying star. No living tongue has ever faithfully rendered the nature of that whisper, nor has any scholar claimed to understand the language in which it was spoken. The oldest dragon sages wrote only that the Universe had not yet exhausted the destiny hidden within the heart of that ancient sun, and that where lesser minds perceived only death, creation beheld an opportunity for something wholly unprecedented. Thus, at the very threshold between ending and beginning, the ancient Hypergiant received one final charge, greater than any it had fulfilled throughout the span of its existence.
What followed has never been witnessed again. The ancient star did not merely perish, nor did it surrender quietly to the endless hunger awaiting all things whose appointed age has passed. Instead it erupted with such inconceivable brilliance that the heavens themselves awakened beneath its radiance. Golden fire burst outward across the blackened sky with a majesty beyond all measure, racing through the darkness in vast rivers of incandescent flame that illuminated regions of space no light had ever before touched. Nebulae trembled beneath the force of that celestial eruption, while distant galaxies reflected its splendor like polished mirrors.
Fragments of molten stardust, hurled into the void by the violence of the explosion, drifted outward in luminous tides whose beauty surpassed every work the Fumogari had ever fashioned. As those radiant fragments journeyed across the heavens they slowly crystallized into brilliant constellations, each preserving within its eternal light a memory of the star from which it had been born. Even now the oldest astronomers of Heluway teach that those constellations remain visible on clear nights, though few among the younger races understand that they are not merely collections of distant stars, but sacred remnants of the greatest celestial birth ever recorded.
Yet the greatest wonder remained hidden within the blazing heart of that impossible supernova. From the collapsing core emerged not ruin, but life. As the fires of the ancient star slowly parted, two immense draconic forms unfolded from the living radiance, neither consumed by the inferno nor diminished by its unimaginable power. Their bodies had not been wrought from ordinary flesh, nor fashioned according to the manner by which the elder Celestines themselves had first entered existence. Rather, they had been forged entirely from celestial flame, as though the dying sun had surrendered every fragment of its immortal glory so that new life might emerge bearing its everlasting light. Thus did the Universe reveal a lineage unlike any that had existed since the first awakening of the Celestine.
The first to rise from the golden brilliance was the magnificent female dragon Va'Khalion, whose name is most faithfully translated as, She Who Wears the Dawn Between Her Wings. Around her shone an aura whose radiance rivaled the newborn stars themselves, and wherever her gaze fell the darkness seemed unwilling to linger. Beside her emerged the genderfluid dragon Xaeloren, forever remembered throughout every surviving chronicle as The Soul Who Walks Between Stars. If Va'Khalion embodied the first splendor of morning, Xaeloren reflected the boundless mystery of the heavens beyond mortal sight. Within their presence light and shadow existed in perfect harmony, neither diminishing the other, but together revealing a beauty impossible for either alone to achieve.
Their scales gleamed with the brilliance of polished gold, reflecting the sacred fire of the star that had bestowed life upon them. Through their celestial veins flowed blood resembling liquid sunlight, radiant beyond all comparison and untouched by corruption or decay. Within their eyes turned vast galaxies of molten cosmic dust whose swirling depths appeared to contain entire universes awaiting the hour of their own creation. Great iridescent wings unfurled behind them with a majesty that silenced even the eldest among the Celestines, and from every measured movement there descended innumerable particles of golden radiance which drifted into the darkness before blossoming into newborn stars. Long flowing hair, radiant white and intertwined with strands of deepest stygian black, framed their majestic draconic forms.
When at last the light of the ancient supernova subsided, the assembled Fumogari approached the newborn dragons with reverence befitting a miracle unlike any they had ever witnessed. Though they had themselves forged innumerable suns and shaped galaxies beyond counting, they understood immediately that Va'Khalion and Xaeloren had entered existence according to a mystery far older and far greater than even their own sacred craft. The Great Forgers beheld the pair not merely as dragons newly awakened, but as living testimony that Audulis Mundis had not yet revealed the full measure of its boundless imagination.
Long did the elder Fumogari remain in silent contemplation before the newborn pair, for wisdom often teaches that the greatest revelations are first received not with speech, but with reverent stillness. Their ancient eyes, which had witnessed the first stars awaken and had watched countless galaxies rise from the darkness, perceived within Va'Khalion and Xaeloren something wholly unfamiliar. Though the two dragons had entered existence through means unlike any known before, they bore within themselves every sacred gift entrusted to the Great Forgers. Yet there lingered within their celestial essence another mystery, one that no living dragon, however ancient, could fully comprehend.
Thereafter the eldest among the Fumogari welcomed the pair into their company and instructed them in the ancient disciplines through which stars were kindled. They taught them how the fires of creation must be tempered with patience, lest reckless brilliance consume that which it sought to illuminate. They revealed the hidden currents by which gravity guides wandering matter into harmonious order and the sacred geometries through which planets find their appointed paths. Va'Khalion and Xaeloren proved diligent beyond expectation, mastering arts that ordinarily required countless ages to perfect. It soon became evident that the wisdom bestowed on them at their birth rivaled that of dragons far older, as though the dying star from which they had emerged had imparted not only life, but also an inheritance of celestial understanding.
In time they demonstrated before their venerable teachers every craft belonging to the Great Forgers. They awakened newborn suns from sleeping embers, breathing radiant life into darkness until brilliant stars burned where none had shone before. With massive talons they gathered wandering stone, crystal, and cosmic dust, shaping them into worlds whose harmonious orbits reflected the perfect order established by the First Covenant. They laid celestial eggs whose patient slumber would endure through untold millennia before awakening as moons to accompany those worlds throughout the long procession of ages. The Fumogari beheld these labors with satisfaction, believing at first that the miracle of the newborn pair had now fully revealed itself.
Yet the Audulis had concealed one final blessing within the blood of its newest children. The revelation came not through deliberate effort, but by chance, as Va'Khalion and Xaeloren completed the shaping of a modest system beneath the watchful gaze of their elders. When the last planet had found its rightful course around its radiant sun, a luminous veil unlike any previously witnessed spread gently outward from the pair. It neither obscured the stars nor extinguished their light. Rather, it bent the very perception of creation, weaving countless streams of celestial radiance into patterns so intricate that the newborn system seemed to vanish from existence. It remained whole, untouched and flourishing within its appointed place, yet every dragon beyond the veil perceived only empty darkness where moments before a thriving constellation had stood.
Great astonishment fell upon the assembled Fumogari. Never before had such a gift manifested among any lineage of the Celestines. They summoned others of their order, who in turn searched diligently for the hidden system with every faculty known to dragon kind. They looked through the ancient sight by which the first stars had been forged, they followed the invisible currents of gravity, and they listened for the silent harmonies by which all celestial bodies announced their existence. Yet despite every effort, the newly created worlds remained utterly beyond their perception until Va'Khalion willingly drew aside the radiant veil.
The elders understood at once the immeasurable significance of what had been revealed. Throughout every age the Galacastrians fulfilled their sacred office with unwavering faithfulness.Yet many civilizations, though deserving of longer ages in which to flourish, found themselves extinguished before their fullest greatness could be attained, not through malice, but through the impartial certainty of the eternal cycle. Now, for the first time since creation began, there existed dragons capable of sheltering worlds beyond the sight of even those mighty keepers of dissolution. Such realms would remain hidden until their histories had unfolded according to destinies known only to Audulis Mundis itself.
None among the Fumogari mistook this blessing as a challenge to the authority of the Galacastrians, nor did they perceive it as a means of denying the sacred balance established by the Four Eternal Flights. Rather, they discerned within it another expression of that same divine harmony. The hidden worlds would not escape the eternal cycle forever, nor would they be preserved beyond the hour appointed by creation. Instead they would be granted time, precious beyond all measure, wherein life might flourish without fear of untimely ending. Thus hope itself, which until then had possessed neither guardian nor sanctuary, was entrusted to the bloodline of Va'Khalion and Xaeloren.
Henceforth the elder Fumogari spoke of the pair with reverence equal to that accorded by the oldest among their own lineage. Though younger in years beyond comparison, they had become custodians of a mystery that enriched rather than altered the sacred order. Having mastered the arts entrusted to them and having come fully into the inheritance bestowed at their extraordinary birth, Va'Khalion and Xaeloren turned their thoughts toward lands yet untouched by dragon kind. Beyond the oldest star roads lay immense regions where no Fumogari had yet awakened a sun, where no Vatae Va'Zenta had scattered the blessings of life, and where silence still reigned as it had before the first dawn. Those forgotten reaches stirred within the hearts of the celestial pair a longing not born of ambition, but of purpose. For they believed that creation remained incomplete while such vast expanses waited in darkness for hands willing to shape them.
Thus, with the blessing of the Great Forgers and the solemn benediction of the assembled Celestines, they departed into the uncharted reaches beyond the oldest maps preserved within the celestial archives. Their passage through Audulis became a marvel unto all who witnessed it. Wherever their radiant wings swept across the heavens, golden streams of stardust flowed behind them like rivers of living light, illuminating regions that had known only darkness since the birth of existence. Many dragons watched their journey until their forms became little more than distant stars on the horizon of the abyss. The eldest among the witnesses declared that a new chapter had begun within the history of Audulis Mundis.
After a journey whose duration no surviving chronicle has faithfully measured, the celestial pair discovered an expanse unlike any they had ever beheld. Countless rivers of luminous gas wound gracefully through the darkness, while vast clouds of radiant dust shimmered with hues of gold, ivory, and pale amber. There Va'Khalion and Xaeloren beheld not merely empty space awaiting creation, but the promise of a sanctuary wherein their unique gift might be brought to its fullest expression.
Together they resolved that this forgotten region should become the first realm fashioned wholly according to their own vision. They gathered the wandering radiance of distant stars, drew unto themselves tides of celestial dust, and bent the hidden currents of gravity into harmonious order. Slowly, with patience, they wove those countless fragments into a magnificent spiral. Every current of luminous gas found its appointed course, every cluster of stars its rightful place, until the newborn galaxy shone with a splendor unlike any other.
Thus was brought into existence the glorious Aurelyth Nebular Expanse, whose beauty would thereafter be celebrated throughout the oldest songs of dragon kind. Its spiraling arms resembled the golden petals of a celestial flower blooming amidst the endless sea of stars, while at its radiant heart burned hundreds of newborn suns whose brilliance rivaled that of the ancient Hypergiant from which their creators themselves had first emerged. Yet these stars possessed a distinction shared by none before them, for as each was awakened, Va'Khalion and Xaeloren gently drew about it the sacred veil hidden within their blood. One by one the systems vanished from the sight of the wider cosmos, concealed behind patterns of celestial light so exquisitely wrought that even the perception of the eldest Galacastrians could not penetrate their mystery.
So was the first hidden sanctuary established beneath the everlasting heavens, and there began the history of the bloodline that future ages would remember as House Xytheris, whose descendants would forever inherit the divine gift of concealed creation. From that hour onward the name of House Xytheris became inseparably joined with hope, for wherever one of its dragons fashioned a world, there too existed the promise that life might flourish unseen until the fullness of its destined age had at last been attained.
With the founding of the Aurelyth Nebular Expanse, Va'Khalion and Xaeloren beheld at last the fulfillment of the sacred purpose that had stirred within their hearts since the hour of their miraculous birth. Yet though the galaxy itself stood as a masterpiece worthy of remembrance throughout all ages, they regarded it not as the culmination of their labor, but merely as the beginning. A galaxy, however magnificent, remained little more than an empty kingdom until worlds arose within it, and worlds, however wondrously fashioned, remained silent monuments until life found a home upon their lands. Therefore, the celestial pair resolved that the Aurelyth Nebular Expanse should become not simply another realm among countless others scattered throughout Audulis Mundis, but a sanctuary wherein creation itself might achieve one of its highest expressions.
For many ages they journeyed through every reach of their newborn galaxy, awakening stars with patient hands and guiding each into perfect harmony with its celestial companions. They shaped innumerable planets from rivers of molten stone and clouds of ancient cosmic dust, measuring each orbit with such precision that no world disturbed the balance of another.Yet of all the countless spheres they fashioned during those long centuries of creation, six alone were chosen to stand as the crowning jewels of Aurelyth, each reflecting a different aspect of the wisdom bestowed on its creators.
The first of these worlds they named Elarion, and among all the realms that have ever graced the sky there has seldom existed another whose beauty equaled its crystalline majesty. Great continents of living crystal floated serenely above the surface of the world, sustained by currents of arcane force that flowed unseen beneath the fabric of reality. Vast mountain ranges shimmered beneath perpetual starlight as though carved from flawless sapphire and diamond, while rivers of luminous energy coursed through valleys fashioned not by water, but by the slow breathing of the planet's own magical heart. Every crystal that adorned Elarion possessed the remarkable gift of gathering the radiance of neighboring stars and refining that celestial brilliance into pure arcane power, which thereafter flowed unseen throughout Aurelyth. The oldest dragon scholars came to regard Elarion not merely as a world, but as the living heart from which the spiritual vitality of the hidden galaxy continually flowed.
When Elarion had reached the fullness of its perfection, the celestial pair turned their attention toward a second masterpiece. They fashioned a world almost wholly embraced by water, whose endless sapphire oceans reflected the heavens with such flawless clarity that sky and sea appeared as one boundless expanse. This realm they named Vael'Thyris. Beneath its tranquil waves the first celestial tides awakened, rising and falling according to harmonies whispered by the moon that watched faithfully above its waters. There also the earliest sea leviathans first drew breath beneath the blessing of the Vatae Va'Zenta, whose gentle descent transformed empty oceans into kingdoms of immeasurable abundance. Coral forests rose like jeweled cathedrals beneath the waves, while creatures of every form and splendor swam through waters so clear that light itself seemed reluctant to depart from them. It is written in the oldest maritime hymns of Heluway that every ocean born thereafter inherited some faint remembrance of Vael'Thyris, for no sea has ever wholly forgotten the world wherein the waters of creation first found their voice.
Thereafter Va'Khalion and Xaeloren raised the third of their chosen worlds, calling it Caelmoris. Whereas Vael'Thyris celebrated the endless grace of the sea, Caelmoris stood as a monument to endurance. From its surface arose mountain ranges whose summits pierced the heavens with solemn majesty, their peaks crowned by snows that had never known melting. Great pillars of living crystal emerged from the ancient stone like towering monuments. These crystals possessed a singular gift unlike any other substance known throughout Audulis Mundis, for they remembered. Every word spoken within their presence, every triumph celebrated beneath their shadows, every sorrow endured upon the mountainsides, and every passing age became forever preserved within their luminous depths. Thus Caelmoris became the first great archive of creation, a realm wherein history itself was woven into the living bones of the world. Many among the eldest dragons journeyed there through succeeding ages, not in search of wealth or dominion, but to contemplate the memories sleeping within those sacred crystals, whose silent testimony surpassed even the most faithfully kept chronicles.
When the work on Caelmoris had been completed, the celestial pair sought to fashion a realm wherein the blessing of the Vatae Va'Zenta might flourish in unsurpassed abundance. Thus arose the fourth world, Sylvarune. Endless forests stretched across its continents like vast oceans of living green, while trees of unimaginable height lifted their ancient crowns into the heavens until their highest branches disappeared amidst silver clouds. Sunlight filtered gently through countless emerald leaves, scattering radiant beams across woodland floors carpeted with flowers whose colors seemed to shift with every passing breeze. Rivers wandered peacefully beneath graceful canopies, nourishing meadows wherein every creature lived according to the perfect harmony established during the first days. Birds of brilliant plumage filled the skies with songs. Throughout every age thereafter, Sylvarune remained a living testament to the quiet majesty of untouched nature, and the Vatae Va'Zenta returned there often, delighting in the flourishing paradise that had grown from their sacred blessing.
The fifth masterpiece differed greatly from those that had come before it, for Va'Khalion and Xaeloren understood that creation must provide not only places of joy, but also sanctuaries wherein weary souls might find renewal. Therefore, they fashioned Nyxora, a world forever bathed in the gentle embrace of twilight. Its heavens glowed with hues of violet, silver, and deep sapphire, while countless stars shone with uncommon brilliance against skies untouched by the harsh glare of day. Vast forests of luminous fungi spread across tranquil valleys, casting soft radiance through the perpetual dusk. Silver rivers wound gracefully between ancient hills, reflecting both starlight and moonlight with equal splendor, while gentle creatures whose bodies shimmered with quiet luminescence wandered peacefully through the eternal gloaming. The air itself carried a stillness unlike any other realm, inviting contemplation rather than celebration, serenity rather than triumph.
It soon became known among the Celestines that Nyxora possessed gifts extending far beyond its extraordinary beauty. Dragons whose bodies bore wounds sustained during ages of labor found healing within its tranquil valleys, while those whose spirits had grown weary beneath the burdens of eternity discovered peace beside its silver waters. Many who arrived burdened by grief departed strengthened in both heart and mind, and thus Nyxora became revered throughout every lineage as the Sanctuary of Quiet Renewal.
Five incomparable worlds now adorned Aurelyth, each reflecting a different aspect of the celestial wisdom entrusted to Va'Khalion and Xaeloren. Elarion nourished the hidden galaxy with inexhaustible arcane radiance. Vael'Thyris celebrated the boundless majesty of the sea and the first awakening of celestial tides. Caelmoris preserved within its living crystal the memory of every age. Sylvarune flourished as the supreme expression of nature's abundance, while Nyxora offered healing to all who sought refuge beneath its eternal twilight. Yet despite the magnificence of these accomplishments, neither Va'Khalion nor Xaeloren regarded their labor as complete. Deep within their hearts remained the quiet certainty that one final work awaited them, greater than every masterpiece they had yet fashioned.
Long did they contemplate what form that final creation should assume. They desired not merely another world, however beautiful, but a realm wherein every blessing bestowed upon the previous five might be gathered together and perfected. It would stand as the crowning jewel of Aurelyth, embodying the fullness of their inheritance and serving as the everlasting heart of the bloodline destined to descend from them. For this undertaking no ordinary materials would suffice, nor would the scattered remnants of forgotten stars satisfy the vision entrusted to them.
From across the hidden reaches of Aurelyth they gathered the brightest surviving fragments of the ancient star whose glorious death had given them life. These sacred remnants had wandered through the Universe since the hour of the great supernova, preserving within themselves traces of the same celestial fire from which Va'Khalion and Xaeloren had first emerged. Patiently they collected every radiant fragment they could find, carrying them reverently to the heart of their hidden galaxy. There they began the greatest labor ever undertaken by either dragon, fashioning not merely another world, but a living memorial to the star whose final sacrifice had forever altered the history of Audulis.
From those sacred remnants would arise the sixth and greatest of all their creations, a world whose name would be spoken with reverence throughout every age that followed. That world was Heluway. And so, Va'Khalion and Xaeloren commenced the greatest labor ever entrusted to their hands, for the making of Heluway demanded not only the wisdom they had inherited from the Fumogari, but the full measure of every gift they possessed. The sacred fragments gathered from the ancient Hypergiant were unlike any substance known elsewhere. Though ages had passed since the star's glorious sacrifice, each fragment yet retained a portion of its celestial radiance. The two dragons labored without haste, for they understood they were shaping not merely another world among countless others, but a living testament to the miracle from which they themselves had first entered existence.
Beneath the guidance of their immense talons, continents slowly emerged from seas of molten gold. Vast oceans gathered within carefully sculpted basins, their waters shimmering with faint traces of celestial brilliance inherited from the sacred materials out of which the world had been fashioned. When at last the foundations of Heluway stood complete, the world surpassed every expectation that even its creators had carried. Vast oceans stretched beyond every horizon, embracing continents whose fertile shores were kissed by beaches of radiant gold. Great mountain ranges rose from the heart of the land, their towering peaks piercing the heavens like monuments raised in everlasting remembrance of creation itself. Their summits shone with crystal and snow, while beneath their roots flowed veins of precious metals unlike any found elsewhere. Every landscape possessed a grandeur that inspired wonder, for Heluway had not merely been built to sustain life, but to remind all who beheld it of the beauty that lies at the heart of existence.
The fires sleeping beneath the young world's surface also differed greatly from those dwelling within ordinary planets. Where lesser worlds concealed rivers of common magma beneath their crust, Heluway's volcanic heart burned with molten gold infused by the celestial essence of the ancient Hypergiant. Whenever those mighty volcanoes awakened, brilliant torrents of liquid gold flowed across the mountainsides like radiant rivers descending from the heavens. Even the darkness of night could never wholly claim Heluway, for the glow of those sacred fires illuminated the land with a warm and everlasting radiance unlike any seen upon the other five worlds.
Yet magnificent though Heluway had become, Va'Khalion and Xaeloren knew that stone, water, and fire alone could never fulfill the destiny for which the world had been created. As had always been the sacred order established beneath the covenant of the Four Eternal Flights, life itself must follow creation. Therefore the celestial pair journeyed to the eldest sanctuaries of the Vatae Va'Zenta, humbly requesting that the gentle keepers of life's first blessing descend onto their newest masterpiece and complete the labor they themselves could never accomplish alone.
The Vatae Va'Zenta answered that request with great joy. In countless graceful flights they descended from the heavens, their emerald and sapphire forms gliding through the skies of Heluway. Wherever they passed, shimmering pollen of celestial starlight fell softly on the waiting soil, and the silent lands awakened as though stirred from an ancient dream.
Forests soon spread across the continents in endless seas of emerald. Meadows clothed themselves in grasses that rippled like gentle waves beneath the breeze, while valleys burst forth with flowers whose colors reflected every hue carried within the light of distant stars. Great rivers wound their patient courses from mountain to sea, nourishing every corner of the land through waters so pure that they reflected the heavens with flawless clarity.
Thereafter the Vatae Va'Zenta bestowed upon Heluway the innumerable creatures destined to dwell beneath its skies. Mighty beasts wandered its endless plains with quiet dignity, neither cruel nor fearful, but fulfilling the ancient harmony ordained for every living thing. Great stags crowned with branching antlers roamed beneath ancient forests, while herds of magnificent creatures crossed wide grasslands that stretched beyond the horizon. Birds whose feathers gleamed with iridescent brilliance filled the heavens with songs of such surpassing beauty that even dragons often paused in silent admiration to listen. Within the rivers swam creatures whose scales reflected celestial light like polished gems, and beneath the vast oceans awakened countless forms of life whose splendor remained hidden beneath sapphire depths known only to the sea.
The skies likewise received their own wondrous inhabitants. Great winged creatures soared effortlessly among the clouds, their voices carrying melodies that echoed across mountain ranges and tranquil valleys alike. Their songs became woven into the winds of Heluway, and thereafter every breeze that wandered across the world carried with it faint echoes of those first celestial hymns. Many dragon scholars have long maintained that music itself first achieved its purest form upon Heluway, for nowhere else had voice and creation existed in such perfect accord.
When at last the Vatae Va'Zenta departed, leaving Heluway flourishing beneath the hidden stars of Aurelyth, Va'Khalion and Xaeloren beheld the completed world in solemn silence. Long they remained atop one of its highest mountain summits, gazing across forests without end, shining rivers, golden coastlines, and distant peaks disappearing into the clouds. Though they had already fashioned five incomparable worlds, both knew within their hearts that Heluway surpassed them all. It united within itself the wisdom of the Fumogari, the blessings of the Vatae Va'Zenta, the sacred remnants of the Hypergiant that had given them life, and the hidden gift bestowed upon them alone by Audulis Mundis. It was not merely their greatest creation, but the living embodiment of every purpose for which they had been brought forth into existence.
Thereupon the celestial pair understood that Heluway should not remain forever empty of their own blood. Just as the elder Celestines had entrusted creation to succeeding generations, so too must they establish a lineage that would preserve the sacred works entrusted to their care. Their descendants would not rule as conquerors nor seek dominion through fear, but would stand as faithful guardians of the hidden galaxy, preserving the harmony established since the First Age and ensuring that every world yet to be fashioned would endure beneath the sacred veil until its destined hour had fully come.
When Heluway had reached the fullness of its beauty, Va'Khalion and Xaeloren turned their thoughts toward the generations yet unborn. The Universe had never intended that even the greatest of dragons should labor alone throughout eternity, for all creation was fashioned to endure through inheritance as much as through creation. The celestial pair resolved that the sacred gifts entrusted to them should not perish with the passing of ages, but should descend through an immortal lineage whose purpose would remain forever bound to the preservation of the hidden realms they had so lovingly wrought.
Thereupon they established on Heluway the first and everlasting seat of their bloodline, raising no fortress of tyranny nor citadel built to inspire fear, but a sanctuary worthy of the sacred office entrusted to their descendants. Its halls were fashioned from living crystal drawn from the heart of Elarion, its soaring pillars reflected the enduring majesty of Caelmoris, its gardens flourished with the boundless abundance of Sylvarune, its tranquil waters mirrored the serenity of Nyxora, and throughout its foundations flowed the celestial radiance that nourished the Aurelyth Nebular Expanse. Every stone was placed not as a monument to power, but as a testament to stewardship, for Va'Khalion and Xaeloren believed that those chosen to guard creation must first learn to revere it.
Within those sacred halls they gathered the first of their descendants and instructed them according to the ancient wisdom inherited from the Fumogari. They taught them how stars should be awakened with patience rather than pride, how worlds must be shaped in harmony with the laws established by the Four Eternal Flights, and how every act of creation carried with it a solemn responsibility extending far beyond the desires of the one who fashioned it. They spoke often of the Galacastrians, commanding that they should never be hated nor opposed, for the great devourers remained faithful servants of the same divine order that had given purpose to every Celestine Dragon. Likewise, they taught reverence for the Vatae Va'Zenta, reminding their descendants that no kingdom, however magnificent, possessed worth unless life existed to rejoice within it.
Above all else they entrusted to their heirs the sacred mystery hidden within their own celestial blood. The radiant veil. Therefore every descendant was charged to wield that blessing with humility, concealing worlds only when wisdom demanded such protection and never from selfish ambition or pride. The divine gift became not merely an inheritance of power, but a sacred covenant binding every generation of their bloodline.
From that hour forward their descendants became known throughout the hidden reaches of the Aurelyth as Xytherians, a name that in succeeding ages would command both reverence and quiet admiration among every lineage of the Celestines. Though many noble houses would arise in ages yet unborn, none traced its origin to a miracle equal to that from which House Xytheris had first emerged. The golden radiance carried within the blood of Va'Khalion and Xaeloren endured undiminished in every generation thereafter, becoming the unmistakable mark by which every descendant of their house was known.
As the ages unfolded, the Aurelyth Nebular Expanse flourished beyond all expectation. Beneath the sacred veil of House Xytheris, countless civilizations arose on hidden worlds unknown to the wider cosmos. Great kingdoms flourished, ancient forests spread across continents untouched by devastation, and generations lived and passed beneath stars that no Galacastrian eye had ever beheld. Yet the dragons of Clan Xytheris never forgot that concealment was a sacred trust rather than an escape from destiny.
