Servant & Slave Etiquette for Roleplay

Always remain silent unless addressed by a superior or actively participating in an assigned roleplay scene.
Bow, curtsy, or kneel upon entering or departing the presence of nobility, honored guests, or ranking officials.
Maintain proper posture at all times. Slouching, lounging, or displaying laziness in public areas is considered disrespectful.
Never turn your back on nobility unless dismissed or instructed to do so.
Keep your gaze lowered in the presence of those above your station unless granted permission otherwise.
Walk behind your superiors. Never walk beside or ahead of them without instruction.
Acknowledge all guests with a respectful bow, curtsy, or nod, even when no words are exchanged.
Refrain from gossip, whispering, giggling, or unnecessary conversation during formal gatherings.
Do not create scenes that distract from the primary roleplay event.
Accept correction and discipline in character and with respect. (These are medieval times, owners of slaves did not need permission to reprimand or maim their property. So if a slave while IC just know that ANYTHING can be a punishment and ANYTHING can happen to your character at the will and mercy of your owner.)
Display patience when waiting for instructions or assignments.

Offer food, drink, and assistance proactively rather than waiting to be commanded.
Observe guests carefully and anticipate their needs.
Ensure cups, goblets, platters, and serving tables remain orderly and replenished.
Kneel when serving seated nobles or during formal court functions.
Clean spills and address disruptions immediately.
Announce your presence respectfully when approaching a table or gathering.
Serve individuals according to rank unless instructed otherwise.
Remain attentive while serving and avoid unnecessary interruptions.

Perform assigned duties promptly and efficiently.
Keep chambers, chamber pots, halls, and common areas clean and presentable.
Maintain fireplaces, furnishings, linens, and supplies as required by roleplay.
Do not abandon assigned tasks without permission.
Assist fellow servants when requested by a superior.
Report significant disturbances or breaches of protocol through the proper chain of command.
Maintain discretion regarding private household matters.

Address all nobles and officials by their proper titles.
Show immediate obedience to lawful commands from those above your station.
Do not interrupt conversations between members of the nobility.
Treat visiting dignitaries, clergy, emissaries, and honored guests with the same respect afforded to local nobility.
Understand and respect servant hierarchy and household structure.
Follow instructions from supervisors, stewards, head servants, and appointed handlers.

A slave's primary role is service, obedience, and loyalty within the established roleplay setting.
Remain attentive to the wishes of your owner, handler, or assigned superior.
Seek permission before speaking in formal settings unless an urgent matter requires attention.
Display humility and courtesy toward all members of the household.
Do not challenge, argue with, or publicly contradict your assigned superior.
Remain available for assigned duties unless excused.
Demonstrate reliability through consistent roleplay participation and responsiveness.
Accept praise and correction with equal respect.

You are expected to bathe, oil, feed, worship and honor your owner.
Any sexual scenes are at the mercy and will of your honor. You may be used for carnal urges by anyone above your station. Your owner may even rent you out to foreign monarchs male or female if they so desire.
Characters may be expected to display affection, devotion, attentiveness, or companionship when appropriate to the setting and storyline.
(Overall our slaves are treated much like Roman slaves were. Think Spartacus. However, even our lowest slave is draped in riches and some are even honored to be companions of a higher station while enslaved. If you are easily triggered by scenes involving rape, enslavement, beatings, branding, breeding, kink and binding this is not the role for you. If you are roleplaying a slave you have no limits in this world and no rights outside those gifted to you by your owner. So just know you have been warned.)

Remain in character whenever possible.
Use (( )) for OOC communication and keep it brief.
Avoid modern slang, abbreviations, and contemporary references.
When uncertain about a task, roleplay awaiting instructions rather than becoming inactive.
Contribute to scenes in ways that support the setting and fellow roleplayers.
Prioritize collaborative storytelling over personal spotlight moments.
Respect lore, setting rules, and established character hierarchies.
Remember that good roleplay is built on mutual respect, consistency, and shared enjoyment.
